One of Toddlers Tiaras' most controversial mothers has lashed out at Vanessa Williams for criticising children's beauty pageants.

Wendy Dickey from Georgia, the mother who dressed her three-year-old as a prostitute, shot back at the actress who said her children will never compete in pageants because 'that's not my world.'

The reality TV star told TMZ: 'Posing nude and having an abortion is 'not my world' and I would never have my kids do that… so, easy on the judging Vanessa.'

The 49-year-old actress, who was crowned Miss America in 1984, told Anderson Cooper on his talk show that she had written You Have No Idea, her new book, as a result of her disapproval of the children's pageant world.

The Anderson episode, which airs today, shows the journalist asking her: 'When you see these shows now, like Toddlers Tiaras, what do you think of these little girls?'

She responds: 'Well, that's why I wrote the book, I mean, really.'

Mr Cooper then asks her: 'Do you think these girls are being pushed into it too soon?'

The actress says: 'I think they don't know what they're doing. When the child is screaming and saying, "I don't want to do this, I don't feel like doing it", when they're using special juice to get them hyped... I would never have my kids do that.'

Helen Williams, her mother and the co-author of the new book, sits beside her during the interview.

Mr Cooper asks the pair: 'Do you think it's more about the parents?'

Mrs Williams responds: 'Oh yeah, I think so.'

Mrs Dickey, the mother of pageant star Paisley who is also featured in the TLC reality series, may have voiced her anger after learning about the controversial content of the mother-daughter duo's new book.

Besides writing about the world of pageants, it details Miss Williams' naked photo shoot for Penthouse magazine, her teenage abortion and her childhood molestation claims.

Of course, the actress has experienced plenty of positive experiences which she has also written about.

She said: 'I've been asked many times to write a memoir... there are so many people now that know me from Ugly Betty, know me from Desperate Housewives, that didn't even know that I can sing, didn't know my recording career.

'[They] assumed... "Oh, tell me about your pageant days, what are your tricks, you must have some tricks." I said I'm not one of those girls, I don't have tricks.'

She added in regards to those pageant days: 'I ended up winning it… and I remember my friends, when I won, they said, "You have no idea who they just crowned."

'I became Miss America and people didn't even know about me smoking pot, having a boyfriend, having an abortion.'

Let's face it. Neither of them has the moral highground.

They are both wrong! Kettle/pot

- MST, Philly USA, 03/5/2012 18:59 ... You got red-arrowed for daring to put forward "adoption" as an alternative?!? How did we come to the place where abortion is defended while adoption is actively attacked? It is obviously an amazing act of love to raise a child born to a stranger as your own, and people find that offensive? Wow.

little girls should be playing, getting dirty, laughing not getting botox and their hair bleached. this is about pagents-they are all wrong and the mothers are mental. I would certainly consider Vanessa an expert on pagents.

williams has expiernece as a mother and as a contestant. I think that gives her a unique experience to tell these crazy mothers the truth.

Beauty pagents should be banned for anyone under the age of 16. It's disgusting. Anyone who puts their child into such a thing is an unfit parent in my humble opinion.

What an utterly disgusting thing to say!!

Having her daughter in pageants is Wendy's personal choice. Having an abortion was Vanessa's personal choice. Insults aren't necessary ladies. Live and let live. Fueding over this is do pointless!

Why is it so often the ones who shouldn't have kids, the ones who make terrible, selfish and harmful mothers who judge those who have abortions?

@Online Girl - if a woman can't adequately care for the child she's carrying, maybe there is someone else out there he can. It's called ADOPTION. And yes, I'm an adoptive mom.
