Lily Allen enjoys a big night out to celebrate her 27th birthday

As every new mother knows, any time free from parenting duities comes as a blessed relief.

And last night Lily Allen, who has a five-month-old daughter Ethel Mary with her husband Sam Cooper, enjoyed an evening off in Soho to celebrate her 27th birthday.

Lily appeared to be feeling the effects this morning, and tweeted: 'Omg, first real hangover in a long time, not lol.'

Perhaps by way of explanation, she added: 'Margheritas , margheritas , margheritas. (sic)'

Kept it casual: Lily wore a pretty flowery dress, black tights and heels, and a black coat with fresh-faced minimal make-up

The singer enjoyed a slap-up meal at La Bodega Negra in Soho with pals Nick Grimshaw and Miquita Oliver, before heading to The Box to dance the night away.

She certainly made up for all those nights, in, staying until 4am, when she left assisted by Miquita.

Lily looked relatively casual for the occasion in a flowery dress, black tights and heels, and a black coat.

She wore her hair in a youthful high ponytail, and was fresh-faced with minimal make-up.

After initially fearing that she would end the day empty-handed, Lily got a Lego plane for her birthday.

The 'Not Fair' singer was thrilled when she received a box of the tiny plastic bricks instructing her how to build a replica private jet.

She tweeted on Wednesday: 'This 'Backstage at the soap awards' thing has been the highlight of my birthday. That and the private jet obvs'

Lily attached a picture of the toy's box.

It must have been a relief for Lily, who only hours earlier had complained that she hadn't been given anything.

She wrote: 'Not one present ....... And counting (sic)'

Paid the price: Lily tweeted this morning that she was feeling hungover after all her margaritas last night

Steady as she goes: Lily relied on the support of her friends rather heavily as she made her way outside

Lily was also understandably miffed when someone thought that she was still pregnant, despite the fact that she gave birth last year.

She wrote: 'And someone just asked me when my baby's due. Massive fail.'

The star recently enjoyed a night off with celebrity pal Miquita Oliver in Camden.

The duo were joined by presenter Nick Grimshaw as they attended Conor Maynard's show.
