They may be Fashion Stars but the designers on the hit reality show don't enjoy the benefits that other celebrities do.
Last night at an event hosted by HM for the NBC television show and its cast of characters, contestants Luciana Scarabello, Orly Shani and Kara Laricks, revealed that they can't afford the clothes they make with their very own hands.
The three fashion mavens - who are the only designers to have sold to Saks Fifth Avenue - told Racked that even though the mega-department store is selling their creations, they don't have the means to buy the pricey items.

Though Ms Laricks wore the red ribbon-tied tail coat she sold to the retail giant to the party, she confessed: 'I'm very lucky, I have to say a girlfriend of mine bought it for me as a gift.'
Ms Shani meanwhile still works in a bar to pay the bills and has to resort to gazing at her clothing hanging on the racks of the iconic store and capturing proof of her triumph with a camera.

Of not being able to cover the cost of the $350 zip mini skirt and $295 colour-blocked jersey dress, she lamented: 'The broke-city thing isn't a joke.'
For her part, Luciana plans to make up for not being able to afford the $225 and $295 dresses she sold to Saks, by purchasing a couple of her pretty floral-print frocks that were bid on by HM in last night's episode.
'This I can afford,' she explained.
The party took place at HM's Fifth Avenue store where guests sipped fennel-cucumber cocktails and perused the retailer's eco line, Conscious Collection, that was on display.
Model behaviour: Models Andrej Pejic (left) and Jessica Hart (right) both stepped out for the event
Fashion Star's mentor Nicole Ritchie flew in for the event, joining John Varvatos, the menswear designer who also supports the contestants through their projects.
Jessica Simpson, who is now heavily pregnant with her first child, did not attend the event.
Transgender model Andrej Pejic and blonde Australian beauty Jessica Hart also joined in the fun.
Best foot forward: Designer John Varvatos (left) and Saks Fifth Avenue buyer Terron Schaefer (right) both attened the event also. Both gentlemen feature on the reality series
Wearing a bold yellow and black empire line sheath, Ms Ritchie tweeted her excitement about the show's West Coast reception earlier in the day.
'West Coast, can't wait to read your reactions to tonight's episode of Fashion Star,' she wrote.
With her hair up in a cute top not and sporting daring red pumps, the celebrity mother of two mingled with brother in law Josh Madden and other friends.
