Jenna Lyons has spoken for the first time about her 'hard' and 'confusing' divorce from Vincent Mazeau.
The J Crew boss, 43, who is believed to have left her husband for a relationship with jewellery executive Courtney Crangi, said she is 'adjusting' to the transition period.
The mother-of-one told The Guardian: 'It has been hard, you know? But I will say, through everything, I realise how incredibly fortunate I am.'
'I'm adjusting': Jenna Lyons (left), who is believed to be dating Courtney Crangi (right), has spoke for the first time about her divorce from Vincent Mazeau
She continued: 'Everyone has been so supportive and understanding. My friends and colleagues have all been amazing. It's certainly been one of the more confusing times of my life, but I'm getting through it.'
Ms Lyons, who has become as well known for her off-beat aesthetic as she has for her new leading lady, turned J Crew into a billion-dollar business with the help of her boss, CEO Millard 'Mickey' Drexler.
Revealing Mr Drexler's bizarre method of communication with his 940 employees, Ms Lyons said he radios in over the office's loudspeaker every few minutes.
Calling in with anything from questions to short bursts of ideas, she said that 'he even checks in from holiday'.
She explained: 'He's like: "Hey, I'm in Saint-Tropez; it's gorgeous here! Anyway, I'm having lunch at Club 55 and you should see all these people wearing white! We should do more white, it's summer, do we have enough white?" It's hilarious - I love it.'
Ms Lyons also discussed a recent visit to the White House, which didn't go as smoothly as she would have liked.
Lamenting using the typical American expression, 'Ugh, it kills me!', she explained that before going through the detectors, she was asked if there was any metal in her body.
She said: 'I have braces in my mouth, so I'm like: really? Do we have to talk about this right now? OK, I guess we doâ¦'
Although Ms Lyons is yet to meet the First Lady, she played an integral part in J Crew's epitome-of-cool transformation.
Michelle Obama, who is often seen wearing the label, actually buys J Crew - and Ms Lyons said for the record, without a discount.
Ms Lyons' Brooklyn family townhouse, which featured in numerous interior magazines showcasing her penchant for quirky interiors, recently sold for $4million.
The president and executive creative director of J Crew then moved to Tribeca with her five-year-old son Beckett.
Her husband of nine years, Mr Mazeau, is reportedly seeking a 'sizeable settlement,' claiming he gave up his own career as an artist 'to stay at home and allow her to develop her successful career,' according to the New York Post.

This is another example of just how far in the gutter our society has fallen.

Who ?

Talented lady, obviously, but how about your kids?

"...typical American expression, 'Ugh, it kills me!'" Really? I don't think I've ever used that nor do I consider is a typical expression. "You're killing me" when really frustrated at someone, yes. "It kills me"? no. And anyone over the age of 18 who uses, "so I'm like" is an imbecile.

Not fair. Why can't this be Rihanna and Beyonce and not two Steven Tyler look alikes.

Jenna Lyons has made terrific design choices for J. Crew and the brand continues to sell well-made, stylish clothes at fairly affordable prices. Call me crazy but I'm not interested in her private life.

Always liked her - now I like her even more.

Nice see through shirt to wear around children...she's picked a winner!

She is just a disgusting person. And the women's clothes no longer fit well or are of the same high quality (especially for the price!) They used to be.

Would had to encounter either of these two freakish characters late at night.
