As a world famous supermodel, Heidi Klum is used to travelling to all corners of the earth to fulfil her work commitments.

But today, the only way was up for the stunning 38-year-old.

Heidi was seen atop the Empire State Building this afternoon attending a lighting ceremony to honour bone marrow donors.

Heidi wore a pretty black and white slim-fit polka dot dress teamed with snakeskin nattered heels for the occasion.

The model tweeted from the top: 'What a beautiful view of New York City from the top of the Empire State Building!!'

She added: 'Lighting the Empire State Building red in honour of DKMS. #FightBloodCancer.'

The cause is certainly a worthy one.

DKMS is the largest bone marrow donor centre in the world, and works to help people donate life-saving bone marrow.

Heidi has certainly had a busy day, fitting several other commitments around her charity appearance.

After her trip up the Empire State Building the star rushed off to attend to some business matters.

Heidi spent her morning unveiling the new pieces for her jewellery collection, WILDLIFE by Heidi Klum for QVC.

Klum looked elegant in a black Michael Kors long sleeved body con dress which she teamed up with a pair of patent black stilettos.

Throughout the event she showed off her new collection by modelling a few pieces on herself.

Her new spring range boosts some very bold designs and colours which look great for the countdown to summer.

The online shopping retailers QVC uploaded several pictures during the event and even tweeted their excitement for her next launch.
