Sir Elton John and David Furnish are considering fathering a sibling for their toddler son Zachary.

Canadian film producer Furnish, 49, admitted he talked about the prospect of having a second child with the 65-year-old singer 'all the time'.

Although Furnish said 'nothing's decided yet', they are hoping to make a firm decision this summer at their holiday home in France.

Furnish told London's Evening Standard: 'I would like Zachary to have a sibling.

'I think he would be better with a sibling than on his own.

'But in terms of when, where and how, nothing’s decided yet.'

Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born to a surrogate mother in California on Christmas Day 2010.

Furnish said they could approach the same surrogate so Zachary's sibling would be closely genetically related, but weren't sure if she would be willing to do so again.

Admitting they had discussed the logistics of a second child, Furnish explained: 'We could go back to the same egg donor, so biologically there would certainly be a connection between brother and brother or brother and sister...

'But (she) has a life of her own and her own family.

'It’s a big commitment to make, nine months of their life that doesn’t just affect them but their children, their husband, their partner. If we found a surrogate who is half as beautiful as our first, we would be very lucky.'

If they do decide to have another child, it will be a tough decision to decide on godparents.

Zachary's godmothers are Lady Gaga, magazine editor Ingrid Sischy, and Sischy's partner Sandy Brant.

Furnish and John, who wed in a civil partnership ceremony in 2005, recently admitted they had sought advice from counsellors on how to raise Zachary in an unconventional parenting scenario.

The film producer said: 'I think he’s going to have a lot of attention thrust upon him. He’s going to be potentially doubly stigmatised, because one of his parents is extremely famous and because he comes from two dads.

‘We’ve taken advice from counsellors. We’ve put a whole scrapbook together about his creation, the people who were involved in the process and how the intent was about love.

‘We’re going to raise him to be proud of who he is.’

Why all the red arrows on the comments saying the boys cute.. Pathetic! Not his fault if you have a problem with his dad/s.

Did the child get a choice of whether he wanted a mother? Thought not.

Good luck to them both, i'm sure they'll be great parents and the child that they will adopt will no doubt have the world at its feet. To all you Daily Mail bigots downvoting comments such as "What a sweet face on that child!! I could love him up--- Lisa, Ohio", have a look in the mirror and think about what kind of people you are, because I pity you all.

Poor kid !!

I have never been able to have kids and it makes me sick, perhaps I mean jealous that in the US you just buy one! Heigl, Joliet Pitt, Davies, Theron, Parker, Bullock etc. It seems soooooooo easy!

Sometimes I feel like washing my hands of this society. God help us.

Who gave birth?

If you want a child, then have a relationship with a woman. A child is not a fashion accessory or a pet, and has a fundamental human right to have a mother around.

Although Furnish said 'nothing's decided yet', they are hoping to make a firm decision this summer at their holiday home in France. Good luck with that.

No.. he should get some female influence for Zachary... this is all wrong ....
