Carol Vorderman appears to lose her neck as she defends herself from 35mph winds

Carol Vorderman looked a little out of sorts when she stepped out on a airfield, earlier today.

The Loose Women anchor appeared to be missing her neck as she tried to battle against the strong 35mph winds in Gloucestershire.

She normally looks rather stylish in tight fitting dresses with not a hair out of place but the 51-year-old was less than glamorous in today's outfit.

Missing part: Carol Vorderman lost her neck as she sheltered from the wind

Carol was in the area to take to the skies in an ex-RAF training jet as it performed acrobatics in the windy conditions.

Walking from the safety of the air hanger to the plane took its toll on the former Countdown star who tried to take refuge inside her black coat.

Unfortunately for Carol, the defensive stance gave the impression that she was without her neck.

Trendy? The presenter wore a khaki green jumpsuit for the flight in Gloucestershire

The 'Rear of the Year' winner had to don a less-than stylish khaki green jumpsuit which she teamed with brown ankle boots, before boarding the plane.

Keen amateur pilot Carol, who is working towards taking her Private Pilot's Licence, was flown by experienced Mark Greenfield at Cotswold Airport, in Kemble, Gloucestershire.

She flew in a Bulldog plane to celebrate the start of this year's Best of British aviation show and raise money for charity.

Dishevelled: The Loose Women star's barnet was battered by 35mph wind

The brainbox was put through her paces during the 20 minute flight, performing air acrobatics, including dangerous stall turns - where the engine is switched off.

After the death-defying flight, Carole said: 'I'm very happy. I absolutely loved it.

Loop-the-loop: Carol showed off her famous shapely behind in the jumpsuit

'We did stall turns and I did two or three loops myself - I'm very happy. I looped-the-loop.'

Carol is a patron of the RAF Benevolent Fund, which helps former servicemen and their families.

Pilot Mark Greenfield joked: 'She's a bit of a screamer.

Airborne: Apparently Carol swore all the way through the adrenalin fuelled flight

Proud: The star managed three loop-the-loops herself and was very pleased

'She swore all the whole way through the flight.'

The Best of British show takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend at the Gloucestershire airport.

Attractions include flights in a vintage aircraft, a display from Breitling Wingwalker Sarah Tanner and aerobatics from the Red Arrows team.

Aw give it a rest Carol and stay out of the view of the cameras. Every. Single. Day. There's no getting away from this plastic grinning idiot.

Wonder why shes got that fly zip down on the trousers!!!! The pilot looks like hes been sweating!!!!!!

Shouldn't she be down the Jobcentre sorting out her Jobseekers Allowance? What does this woman actually specialise in - apart from doing absolutely anything to get her face in the papers/on TV? If she wants to go up in a plane, let her - but I, for one, am not in the least bit interested.

Even with the nistakes in the write-up I enjoyed it. Don't take these things too seriously, they're supposed to be fun. Like Greeners I do this sort of flying a lot, and I always enjoy the laughter. I miss the English sense of humour, it's what sets us apart from serious Canadians, keep up the good work, and keep life a little lighter with a bit of fun.

She might live to regret tipping off the photographers about this one... not her best angle!

Not being funny, but in pic 6, is her rear end much smaller than we're used to seeing? Does she pad it out after all when she wears stuff that's two sizes too small? She looks normal and not overdone, or is it the trousers? can't decide....not that It'll make me lose sleep or change my life you understand, just wondering! LOL!!

Stall turn? With the engine off???!! A Bulldog 'jet'....? Death defying? And are "air acrobatics" something she performed in the cockpit whilst flying? A few vaults over the pilots seat, perhaps? If she was doing that then she may well have put the Bulldog jet into some death defying AEROBATICS! Oh dear.

Crying with laughter at picture 4, not her best look, looks like she doesn't have a neck - Kate, London, 22/6/2012 16:44 Crying with laughter??? Doesn't take much to amuse you then.

Crying with laughter at picture 4, not her best look, looks like she doesn't have a neck - Kate, London, 22/6/2012 16:44_____________ Isn't it priceless? It looks like her head superimposed on someone else's torso. Must be a blow to her gigantic ego to see herself papped looking like this.

Hadn't met Carol before flying her today. She was a top lady who had time for everybody and was great fun. Yes, quite a few mistakes in the story above. Most importantly, I'd like to add that whilst I may have used a few choice phrases myself whilst flying Carol, she was a perfect lady throughout and I don't think that she swore at all!
