An insider told the Daily Star at the time that writing music for the Bridget Jones musical made her crave making records again.

Lily left the music scene to focus on fashion, opening a vintage clothing boutique, Lucy In Disguise, with her sister.

She then retired to the country to focus on family life with husband Sam Cooper and their baby Ethel, who was born in November.

The source said in April that her new family has inspired her to take a new direction with her music.

They added: 'Lily wants a more mature sound and is penning tracks about Ethel and Sam.'

Lily previously admitted she missed performing live but knew it was important to put her family first.

Speaking when she was pregnant with Ethel, she said: 'When I go to gigs and stuff, I get a slight pang of envy and I think, "Oh I do miss being up on that stage." But I have other priorities at the moment.'

Lily released her last album, It's Not Me, It's You, in 2009, and last performed solo in August 2010.
