Hello Kitty open first beauty spa in Dubai

In a move that will make every girly-girl's dream come true, Hello Kitty have launched their first beauty spa.

Offering a range of pampering treatments from massages to 'kitty-cures' (a Hello Kitty version of a manicure), their website claims they're not just a spa but a 'destination that defines exclusive posh pampering â€" we’re all about sugar, spice and everything incredibly nice!'

The spa, which has opened in Jumeirah town centre in Dubai, hopes to attract both young and older fans of the kitsch Japanese brand with it's age-graded 'queen' and 'princess' treatments.

Despite being in Dubai and designed by Japanese Miyuki Okamura, the spa has a parisian theme.

All the treatment rooms have pink interiors and feature the famous Hello Kitty character, called 'Kitty White', which was created by Yuko Shimizu. Visitors can even have the Kitty intricately painted onto their nails.

This is not the first time the brand, which was initially targeted at children,  has ventured into the beauty world. They already have their own range of nail polishes and have collaborated on a make-up collection with Mac cosmetics.

Hello Kitty fans, who already lap up the extensive range of 'Kitty White' merchandise currently on the market from clothes and jewellery to toys and TV shows, will no doubt hope that if the spa is successful in Dubai, more Hello Kitty spa branches could open around the world.

"The spa is every girly-girl's dream come true" This pretty much sums up my idea of HELL - it's pink and full of plush animals.

Always thought Hello Kitty was tacky and a pile of tat! This looks nice though!

I just dont get why grown women get excited over this brand. Very odd.

This Hello Kitty theme is nothing new. In macau they have a hello kitty theme in the Macau tower, you have everything from Hello Kitty Church to library! In Taiwan the have an airline called Eva air where all planes that go to Japan from Taipei and Hong Kong are Hello Kitty Themed - so from the exterior plane to air hostess to airplane food and seats are all Hello Kitty! Of course, in Japan you have sanrio land (theme park) where Hello Kitty came from...it makes Mickey Mouse's Disney look less impresseive!

Hello Kitty is a bit strange. It doesn't seem to know whether it's a children's character or a logo for Japanese women.

A-MAZ-ING!

Please can I have a job there?!!

I am so there! LOVE HELLO KITTY!

When I read the headline I thought it was going to be a spa for cats!!! :)

It's a nice place for a mum and daughter :)
