They divorced almost ten years ago but have remained good friends ever since, especially as they have three children together.
So it was hardly surprising to see Jude Law arrive at Sadie Frost's house with a present for the birthday girl under his arm.
The only question was what exactly was the print was, an unusual one to say the least, but clearly one to Sadie's taste from a man who knows her well.

It was a black and white print of what looked like an African mask decorated with Oriental writing.
Jude, 39 and Sadie, who turned 47 yesterday, were married from 1997 to 2003 and have three children - son Rafferty, 15, daughter Iris, 11, and and nine-year-old son Rudy.
The actor, 39, was snapped strolling towards her London home as Sadie returned from a girlie lunch with good friend Kate Moss.

The last time the ladies were snapped together they were enjoying a good old party with their celebrity pals until the small hours of the morning.

But it's not all late nights and parties because they also know how to be chic ladies who lunch too.
And where better to grab a healthy and delicious bite to eat on a gloriously sunny summer's day than their beloved Primrose Hill.
Kate, 38, and Sadie were snapped leaving the Lemonia Greek restaurant on Regent's Park Road in north London this afternoon after a Mediterranean meal.
Both ladies looked very chic and summery as they left and headed across the road which is fulled with a whole range of restaurants and bars.
Kate kept it very simple but looked lovely in skinny grey jeans, a sheer white blouse and waistcoat and a pretty patterned scarf.
She teamed the look with grey stilettos, sunglasses and an oversized black handbag and looked immaculate and co-ordinated.
Sadie also kept it simple and chic with a black skirt and dark denim sleeveless top which she teamed with brown sandals, sunglasses and a small handbag over her shoulder.
The girls have been good friends for years and Primrose Hill is their - and many other celebrities' - leafy London area of choice.

And while the girls were out enjoying the day, Kate's rock star husband was out and about in Los Angeles.
He was snapped leaving the Chateau Marmont hotel with some friends, his tie loose round his neck as he smoked a cigarette.

Kate was also celebrating her latest venture, after it was reported today that George Michael has asked her to be in his new music video.
According to the Mirror, Kate was said to be upset that she wasn't one of the models that appeared in his Freedom video in 1990 which starred Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford, because she wasn't famous enough at the time.

A source told the paper: 'Kate is a huge fan of George’s and always has been. When she said last year that she was upset she didn’t get to star in the Freedom video, it got everybody involved in George’s new track thinking.
'She was offered a cameo role in the new video as long as she could make it along to the studio for the shoot. She was delighted to be offered, and if everything goes to plan, she’ll appear in it.'

eew. Sadie, time for a face and neck (and knee) lift love. And while you're shopping, get a bra that fits - this one gives you 4boob. Not a good look.

They should have gone to Marathon Kebab House, about ten minutes' walk from Lemonia, smashed some plates and got into a fight. Now that would be worth reporting!

Jamie Hince, acts as if he was the frontman to Led Zeppelin or something. He just a middle-age man, who cannot give up the Rock 'n' Roll dream....that never happened.
