High-end designers like Michael Kors are now making heels for little girls, and parents are buying them.
After Suri Cruise was seen wearing a pair of gold, low-heeled shoes for the first time three years ago, it seems heels for little girls outside the dress-up box are becoming increasingly popular.
Now Michael Kors, just one designer making heels for tiny tots, is selling three-inch wedges that could easily be seen on any urban teenager.

While the shoes are advertised as being for toddlers and youth, the size chart correlates to girls aged between six and ten years old.
His children's boho-style, espadrille wedge with a three-inch heel priced at $74 are part of a collection which also includes glittered and leopard-print two-inch heels for $66.

However Michael Kors isn't the only label marketing heels to young girls.
Target currently sells espadrilles with 2.25 inch heel to kindergarten-aged girls, which are found under the 'trendy' section of its website for $20.
Jessica Simpson Kids and Kenneth Cole Kids also sell heels for young girls, slightly lower at just under two inches.
Interestingly, many mothers with small feet are buying the shoes for themselves, as well as their daughters, who aspire to look like their well-heeled mums.
One young reviewer of the Michael Kors three-inch wedge wrote in the comments: 'These shoes are so cute. Unfortunately my mom said that I cannot get them as I am not allowed to wear heels.'
Suri Cruise has been pictured a number of times in public with heels and lipstick in what her mother, Katie Holmes, claims is just a harmless dress-up game.
However, health experts warn the shoes can damage feet and posture.
Sammy Margo of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy said putting a child into even slightly higher shoes shortens muscles in the calf while lengthening others.

The high heels are also part of a raft of products said to be sexualising young girls, including a first make-up kit for girls of five and T-shirts for toddlers emblazoned with 'Future footballer's wife'.
Katie Holmes has defended her daughter's outfits. She told a U.S. TV show: 'Like every little girl, she loves my high heels.
They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them.'

I absolutely despise seeing little girls in heels! It's just as bad as seeing little dinky girls with ears pierced! Let them be kids and stop sexualising them!! My daughter is 10 and is very fashion minded and Into her brands but never would I allow her to wear heels or wedges! It just looks wrong and let's not forget damages their feet!!

My daughter has some of these shoe she is nearly 5 she only wears them to partys and when playing dress up.. No harm in enjoying a "grown up" shoe for play etc as long as its for small periods. I remember walking around the house in my mothers stilettos as a child playing mummy's and daddy's x

Parents are the ones who buy childrens shoes so this is simple if you ask me, If you dont want to ruin your childrens feet then you dont buy these shoes! Doesnt matter if little darling is having a tantrum in the shop you dont buy them! Childrens feet are best left without being crammed into shoes for as long as possible yet it seems nowadays that the minute they are born we see tiny babies wearing nike trainers etc and it is all to do with the parents because the babies dont ask to wear them!

Little girls have been wearing shoes with little heels for years, long before Suri was born and possibly even before her mother was born. Anyone who thinks there is something sexual about children's shoes needs to see a psychiatrist. Quickly.

While I don't condone this, growing up I had raised shoes for dress-up games and special occasions. At least they aren't stilettos.

TOTALLY WRONG, however the question here really is who BUYS the shoes, not the 6 year olds is it!

I think they are designed for young teens... If parents allow little irks to wear them then they are at fault, not the designer.
