Jeremy Clarkson is known for his verbal faux pas, but now the presenter's actions have sparked controversy as he was spotted smoking while watching his wife complete a triathlon - for a cancer charity.
The 51-year-old was seen lighting up on the sidelines in a scruffy jacket as his wife Frances completed the Blenheim Palace triathlon in Oxfordshire on Sunday.
Spectators said the presenter, who is known for his gaffes onscreen, looked odd chain smoking as competitors swam, cycled and ran around the grounds.

Unfazed: Jeremy Clarkson spotted smoking as his wife Frances completed a charity triathlon
Race competitor Simon Bozeat said: 'I never knew Jeremy Clarkson was a fan of the annual Blenheim Palace triathlon.
'It seemed quite odd seeing him light up a cigarette amongst all those thousands of healthy athletes busting a gut.'
Mrs Clarkson was raising money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, the event's official charity.
The Blenheim Triathlon, which saw 37 separate races, was held on Saturday and Sunday at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock.

Competitors had to complete a 750m swim in the estate lake, 20km bike ride and a 5km run.
The contentious host faced a storm of protest from mental health charities after he branded people who throw themselves under trains as 'selfish' last November.
He had only just apologised apologised after telling BBC1's The One Show that all striking workers should be shot.Â
In January he compared the residents of Kent to refugees, calling them 'the sort of people who arrive in the back of a refrigerated truck'.
Earlier, he used his newspaper column to compare the Morecambe Bay tragedy in which 23 Chinese migrant workers died with synchronised swimming.
Clarkson is one of the BBC's highest paid stars, having earned £2.14 million from his involvement in Top Gear last year.
