Globetrotting pensioners are making up for lost time, by travelling more now than they ever did when they were young.
According to a new report into Old Age Travellers - OATs - 52 per cent say they are travelling more than ever before.
Gatwick Airport surveyed people over 70 years old and found that they were enjoying retirement by planning adventure both in the UK and abroad.

When asked why, 63 per cent said that they now had the time to travel, while 22 per cent said that they had more money available in the their retirement years.
The survey was commissioned as Gatwick aims to find Briton's oldest traveller.
Results showed that some of the most popular destinations for older travellers include British breaks, with 67 per cent of the vote, France (43 per cent), Spain (40 per cent) and the U.S. (31 per cent).
But researchers found that around one in three older travellers said they could benefit from having special assistance for their journeys.
John Carter, a Gatwick Airport passenger panel member, said: 'Travelling as you get older doesn't have to be a daunting experience - it's a great way to keep yourself active and to extend your worldly experience with friends, family or even alone.'
Gatwick Airport's head of terminal operations, Paul Fitch, added: 'At Gatwick we provide support and special assistance at every step of an airport journey - from the moment people enter our doors to the moment they leave.
'From customised transport and dedicated seating right through to specially trained staff, we're dedicated to making the airport journey easier and more enjoyable for everyone.'
