They famously never married during their 14 year relationship.
But despite not making their romance official in the legal sense, it looks like Vanessa Paradis is set to receive one of the biggest pay-off between a non-married couple.
Johnny Depp is said to be paying the French singer/actress £100million in a bid to keep the split as amicable as possible for the sake of their children, according to The Sun.

Pay-off: Johnny Depp is said to be paying ex-partner Vanessa Paradis £100million, despite having never married
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star, 49, is reported to be worth at least £200million and has an extensive property portfolio.
The couple have a mansion and apartment in Los Angeles and own the island of Little Hall's Pond Cay in the Bahamas.
In Europe, the couple's main home is in Plan-de-la-Tour in southern France, as well as a house in Paris, a canalside palazzo in Venice and Depp is said to have been the mystery buyer of a house in the Norfolk village of Burnham Market.
Although the pair and their children Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, nine, were based in their Hollywood home in recent years, the actress, 39, was spotted house-hunting in Beverly Hills a few weeks ago.

Looking glum: Vanessa Paradis was spotted house hunting in Beverly Hills on May 23, just weeks before her split from Johnny Depp was confirmed
Depp and Paradis only confirmed their split on Tuesday following months of speculation, but it is believed they had been living separate lives for months.
Last month, The Café de Flore star visited a number of properties with price tags of between $7million and $11million.
Vanessa appeared glum as she looked around the properties on May 23 and there was no mistaking the strain of the relationship breakdown has taken its toll.
Life without Johnny: The 39-year-old singer, actress and model was casually dressed as she looked at the expensive properties

Lush home: The French star was seen looking at a number of properties in Malibu and Beverly Hills including this seven bedroom home which is listed at $7,995,000
The actress, singer and model was dressed in a floppy hat and had a blue and red printed kaftan over a grey blouse.
She was also wearing a pair of loose-fitting grey trousers which were rolled up.
The French star was seen looking at a number of properties in Malibu and Beverly Hills including a seven bedroom home which is listed at $7,995,000.
The home boasts 7,580 square feet, eight separate bathrooms, media and game rooms, a wet and a dry saunas, a pool and spa.

With Johnny visit: The actress is now starting a new life without her former partner Depp after their 14-year relationship ended

Who lives in a house like this: Vanessa has been looking for a home that she can share with the couple's two children Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, nine. Will this $7,495,000 pad fit the bill?
Vanessa was also seen looking at a six bedroom home which cost a cool $10,995,000.
The master bedroom offers two separate baths, two terraces and a study and the property also has a separate guest house.
Two weeks ago, Depp was seen cutting a lonely figure as he hopped onto a jet on his way to New Mexico.
As late as last month the Pirates of the Caribbean star had denied there was any rift between himself and Vanessa, despite reports stating that they were living separate lives dating back to January.

Flying solo: Johnny Depp was seen boarding a private jet to New Mexico two weeks ago. He and Vanessa are said to have been living separate lives for months

Tough time: Johnny has not been seen at a public event with Vanessa since 2010
'They bet that things would continue there as they had in the south of France. They lost that bet.
'She went seven years between albums and films, while he became Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates films.'
Reasons for the split have ranged from career obligations pulling them apart to claims Depp had a fling with his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard.
A report today claimed Depp was 'bored senseless' with their relationship and they had grown apart.
A source told RadarOnline.com: 'Johnny didnât want to be with Vanessa any more. They had grown so far apart, and he wanted to be free and try new things.
'He was bored senseless with her, being with Vanessa was making him miserable.
'The spark had gone, and there was nothing left. Johnny just wants more from life and believes Vanessa deserves to be happier too.'
The blonde bombshell, who came out as bisexual in 2010, was seen boarding Johnny's private jet to Las Vegas in April, fuelling rumours of a relationship between the co-stars.
Depp's publicist confirmed the split on Tuesday in a statement that read: 'Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated. Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children.'

I have been separated from my husband for 10 years now, I have a new partner but only see him now and again as I have a disabled son and can't afford to leave so am still living in the same house and sleeping in the same bedroom and my ex (separate beds!) I wish I had a little bit of their money so I could leave with my son and have a quiet life with him and my new partner. Don't ask for much! Lucky them!

I see the woman- haters are out in full force today. They seemed like decent people. Depp has always said he didn't really care about money, but enjoyed having fun making it and getting offered ridiculous sums. With this attitude it only stands to reason that they would be generous with one another. I think I read once where he said he was only making it so his kids could do 'whatever' with their life. Sounds good to me!

She's famous and worth a fortune in her own right , so why give her the money.

Enough already. He's paying her off to shut her up about his daliance with the other woman. It isn't human nature to give up the bank roll to such an extent unless it's out of guilt or a pay off. Good actor, but always found him to be a flake. Hope that the kids don't suffer too much from Daddy's daliance being public knowledge.

Virgil from Portsmouth, why on earth would you allow yourself to be so annoyed (to paraphrase your cruder wording) by what someone else does with their money? However much Johnny Depp decides upon as a settlement for Vanessa Paradis, it is HIS money, and if he decides that she has deserved it, earned it, and there is a reason for her to get it, it is entirely up to him. Unless you are are personally acquainted with their personal and financial circumstances you are commenting on the basis of total ignorance on something that is absolutely none of your business.

This article all of it's comments just prove women are nothing but shallow, greedy individuals that put settlements before their children. Cynthia Lennon anybody?? You know the woman who divorced John Lennon? One of the richest musicians on the planet in the 60's?? That's right! she divorced him and didn't ask for a PENNY because she knew her kids were her top priority! She didn't fleece him for anything because she was more concerned about the welfare of her son than going through courts for amounts of money she wasn't entitled to! And she worked damn hard to provide for her son! Now that is REALLY putting your kids first in a divorce, not accepting $100m dollars!! If women want money they should get off their lazy backsides and WORK for it like the rest of us! not steal from men! Stories like this are the reason i'm not getting married, and why men in general shouldn't get married either! No woman is worth $100m!!

It's funny how (most) women seem to think that $100m is a "justifiable" amount. Really!!? Who needs $100m? And for what? The kids? I'm not saying Vanessa is a gold digger (I assume it was Johnny's decision) but you lot DEFINITELY are. And you wonder why men are so reluctant to get married.
