The audience were treated to more than just a vocal display by Canadian rapper Drake, at a recent concert.

The 25-year-old was performing in Birmingham, England, and had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand - until he fell over.

Not one to take an embarrassing fall lying down, Drake tried his best to conceal his drop with some smooth gymnastic moves.

As the Young Money MC jumped from one side of the stage to the other he looked full of confidence dancing and entertaining the sold out LG Arena.

While letting the audience sing Rihanna’s part of Take Care, he got carried away and seemed lost in the moment.

But it was as he stepped towards the edge of the stage area that he made his big mistake.

The rap star didn't look behind himself as he backed up away from the crowd and he was sent tumbling backwards.

Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, appeared to catch his foot on a raised level of the stage and instantly fell in front of the audience.

However, the chart topping artist played off his drop by falling into a backward roll and then flipped onto straight onto his feet and continued the show.

Take no notice: The star acted like nothing had happened and continued along with the concert

The local crowd obviously saw his comical cover-up attempt, but got behind him and cheered him on.

It isn't the firs time that Drake has been left red faced while on stage, in 2009.

While singing Best I Ever Had, with Lil Wayne, he slipped on stage and aggravated a previous knee injury to his ACL.
